One of the things we definitely wanted to do while we were on the island was hike the Quill. The quill is what they call the huge volcano.
It is super humid on the island, and quite warm, so hiking was not a fun thing. We were dripping sweat the whole way up. All over the quill there are hermit crabs. We had to dodge them as we hiked. The kids had fun finding them.
There is not much view on top because of all of the trees, but you can see down into the quill a little. The peak on the other side is the highest point. It was so nice and cool on the top, and there were no mosquito's to torture us. We stayed a while and ate lunch. It was a much needed break.
Nathan and Kristin went up again on another day. They hiked down into the quill and part way around. There is a tropical rain forest inside the quill. Nathan said it was awesome.
