Our backyard
This is our backyard. There is a park right behind our place. It has lots of hiking trails, a stream, and a cool bridge. The kids love exploring.

First Date

Sandy came over and watched the kids while we went on a date. We went to downtown Portland and rode our bikes around. We rode by the river, across a bridge, and through the streets. Portland is a very bike friendly city. We had dinner at Chipotle, and watched all the people walk by. It was a great evening.

When we were in Mesa, we went bowling with Carri and Dave and the kids. It was a lot of fun.

Jonny, Amanda, and Autumn played one game and Dave and I played another.
I think the kids had more fun waiting for the balls to come back on the machine than they did bowling.
Don't look to close at the scores. I lost. Not only to Dave, but Jonny and Autumn beat me as well! I can't complain that much, Jonny beat Dave too! Must be beginners luck.

We will definitely be going bowling again. It was a blast (and I need the practice).
Jonny, Amanda, and Autumn played one game and Dave and I played another.
This is the mess........We have a lot of stuff! I thought we went through and got rid of a lot, but we didn't get rid of enough. Nathan and I unloaded the truck by ourselves. It was a very very long day. Now the unpacking begins.

I actually like this part of moving. There is something nice about finding a place for everything and putting it there. The kids are glad to be out of the car. They are finding fun things to do. Interesting how a box can be the best toy.

Our apartment is small, but it has a great view (pictures coming soon). We live close to a major shopping area, and not too far from church. The weather is BEAUTIFUL! There are bike paths and hiking trails close by. I think we are going to like it here.

Drive to Oregon
The drive to Oregon was not to bad. I think we have traveled so much lately, we are becoming professionals.
We drove he first day to April and David's. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins. Then, it was back in the car for day 2.

We made it to Boise.
On day 3 we arrived in Portland. I new we were getting close when I saw this.......
Yep, rain. Something we will have to get very used to. It is very beautiful though. The Columbia river gorge is awesome. There are beautiful waterfalls along the highway. The kids did great except for the last hour or two. We are glad to finally be here.
We made it to Boise.
