A very long Sunday

On our way to Albuquerque, our car broke down. boooo!  The alternator wen out. It was kind of interesting to watch our car die a slow death. The lights on the dash started coming on one by one. We were hours from anything, so all we could do was keep driving. When the power steering went out, we decided that we had to stop. We called AAA and started the slow process of getting towed.
AAA said that they could only tow 2 people. That worried me because I didn't want to be separated. Finally, AAA worked it out and sent 2 vehicles to get us. We drove 2 hours to Albuquerque. When we got there, there was a huge thunderstorm! It was pouring and lightning was striking everywhere. Awesome, except the lady that was driving was terrified of lightning. Poor lady. All of the Mechanics were closed because it was Sunday evening, so we just had them drop us off at the hotel.

It was a very long day, and we were glad to get to our hotel.

Visiting Jake

We spent the week at Nathan's cousins house. His family was in California, so it was just him at home. Nathan and Jake hiked up to the flag on the mountain. The view is beautiful!

Nathan took the kids on a walk and took these cute pictures.

I went on a walk up the mountain as well. Not as far as Nathan and Jake, but there was still a great view. It was a fun visit.

Broken

Emily got her first broken bone! She was running across the street at April's house and she fell on it. It is called a greenstick fracture, not broken, just kind of Squished. We didn't know if it was broken, so we waited a few days to see if it would heal. As she was getting into the car one morning, she put pressure on it and started crying. That's when we decided that we needed to take her in. They did x-rays. She thought that was cool. The doctor was going to cast it, but we told him about our trip and he decided to do a brace instead.
We will be able to take it off in about 4 weeks. She is such a brave girl!

Salt Lake Tourists

We visited a few sites while in Salt Lake. It was fun to show the kids around.

24th of July

The 24th was a lot of fun.  The kids dressed up as a pioneer and a missionary for the parade.
Grandpa drove his truck with all the primary kids in the back.
After the parade, we went to the park for the breakfast and entertainment. Happy Pioneer Day!
