Eclipse 2012

Mardell, Brian and their families came up for the eclipse.

We drove up to Kolob (along with 1,000 other people) to get a good view.

It was cool to see. we used two pieces of cardboard to look at the eclipse. (Not as exciting as I had hoped). It was cool to see it go dark in the middle of the afternoon.

We had a yummy lunch, sandwiches and chips.

It was a great time.

Dad's 64th birthday

We had a family dinner for dad on his birthday.

We did the obstacle course that they did at cousins week.
The grandkids did skits about stories from grandpa's life. It was so cute.
Joey had burned his arm on a fire.

Haha (sorry dad, I had to).

Happy birthday dad! We love you!

Scout lookout

We hiked up to scout lookout. (Angel's Landing, without the dangerous part)
It was a wet, windy day.

We saw a waterfall that usually isn't there. It was beautiful.

 View from the top.

The kids did good. It was a long hike and we were all tired when we got done.It was well worth it. So much fun!

Dinosaur tracks

We decided to go to the dinosaur tracks south of Hurricane. Robert and Anna (from Solvakia) came with us. We missed the turn and ended up on a 4 wheeler road. It was quite a bumpy ride, but lots of fun. Robert said that it was better than the dinosaur tracks. My brothers would be so proud of my driving.

The tracks are cool. There are some big ones and lots of little ones.

It was a fun trip.

North Rim Grand Canyon

On the drive home we decided to stop by the North Rim.

It was so beautiful. I had no idea. I went a s a little girl, but don't remember it.

The kids loved it.
We took a short walk to Bright Angel Point. Then walked to the Lodge.

We will definitely be going back soon to go camping.
